A really fun activity to try with young children is a sensory walk. You can set this up in the garden with different sensory experiences for them to walk through “bear foot”. When we do this at school we set up trays of different materials for the children to walk through including the oozy mud (messy) we always have a paddling pool at the end for foot washing!
It’s great fun and encourages all sorts of interesting vocabulary as they describe how each new footprint feels.
