The role of the PTA is to bring together parents, teachers and sponsors to raise funds and to have fun doing it! With our fundraising we aim to enrich our children’s education by providing valuable equipment, books and materials, and undertaking projects to enhance the building and facilities of the school. In addition, the PTA funds Christmas parties and other treats. We do this by organising a variety of fundraising social and educational events throughout the year.
All parents are automatically members of the PTA and we welcome anyone who has time, skills and talents to offer, or can help in any way with our fundraising activities.
The Sacred Heart PTA is affiliated to the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations and we have adopted the standard constitution. We also pay an annual sum to the NCPTA for insurance that covers events and public liability.
We are also registered with the Charity Commission and as such our Trustees are bound by signed declaration. Our accounts are filed every year within 10 months of the end of the PTA financial year. That is, the end of June.
For 2017/18 we will hold meetings each term in the school and these meetings will be advertised in advance in both the school newsletter and on the playground announcement board.
As PTA members you are all invited to come along and have your say. If you cannot make a meeting, minutes will be published to all those on the PTA email distribution list, uploaded to the school website and displayed on the PTA notice board. If you have any suggestions that you would like to raise with the PTA Committee, then come and talk to us, either in the playground at the beginning or end of the school day or via our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org

The Sacred Heart Lotto (SHLotto) is an excellent way of providing support to the school, whilst having a bit of fun at the same time. It is one of the ways parents and friends of the School can choose to make a major contribution to the School’s resources by helping to fund our school mini bus.
Membership – How It Works: Membership costs £20 for one ticket or £30 for two (but only for members joining from the same family). Each member is allocated a number(s) randomly (you will be informed by email) and this stays the same for the whole year.
The Draws: Membership entitles entry to a monthly draw which is carried out at the end of each month from October to July (10 draws in total). For each draw, there will be:

In addition to events organised throughout the year, the PTA has a number of on-going activities that help us fund raise with just a couple of clicks.
Shop online at www.buy.at/sacredheartpta and raise funds for the PTA while shopping with your favourite online retailers. If you shop online for food, books, games, presents or even holidays, just click on this link first and you can earn the PTA a commission on your purchase. There is no extra cost to you.
All you have to do is type: www.buy.at/sacredheartpta and you will be taken to a page where there is a list of over 100 retailers who support the scheme. From this page you click through to the website of the retailer you want to buy from, e.g Tesco. Whatever you then purchase will earn a commission for the PTA.
IT’S THAT SIMPLE!
Forget Google! Forget Yahoo! By using the search engine at www.everyclick.com/sacredheartschoolpta the PTA automatically gets a donation every time you use it. So why not give it a try and put it on your home page, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
Visit Yellow Moon for all your children’s arts and crafts supplies, for gifts and stocking fillers at www.yellowmoon.org.uk and quote the PTA Source Code – SSA1293 when ordering and the school will get a commission.
NFER has developed a ‘pupil and parent voice survey panel’. This gives pupils and parents a chance to have their say on a wide range of educational issues and influence policy and practice at a national level. The PTA will receive £2 for every household they sign-up, up to a maximum of £200 per PTA.
All parents have to do is register on the website www.nfer.ac.uk/panel and put in our PTA reference code EX877. Once you register funds are allocated to the PTA.
In addition, every time you reply to one of NFER’s surveys (sent to your email address) the school will earn £1 worth of points, which can then be redeemed as a donation to charity (either the Sacred Heart PTA charity or another, or redeemed via Amazon).
This is all the information you need to get started, however, if you want to know more then check out the NFER website or send your query to firstname.lastname@example.org.
