The Beehive at Kew

At Kew you can visit a wonderful hive - its enormous.:

Can you hear music? This is made by real bees that they keep in a beehive, as the bees come in and out of the hive they make the music. This means that in the winter the hive is quiet, but in the spring and summer the hive is very, very noisy. I wonder why?
