Religious Education

At Sacred Heart school, we place Christ at the heart of all we do. Guided by the Religious Education Directory, To Know You More Clearly, our Religious Education curriculum invites children to develop a deeper understanding of God’s love, the teachings of Jesus, the richness of the Catholic faith and reflect on their own spiritual journey.

Through a carefully planned and progressive programme of learning, pupils explore Scripture, Catholic tradition, prayer, liturgy, and the teachings of the Church. We support every child in growing in faith and discovering their unique place within God’s creation. Our pupils are encouraged to ask questions, think deeply, and develop a lifelong relationship with God and others. They are supported to grow in their relationship with God and recognise their responsibility to others, particularly those in need.

We are committed to providing high-quality Religious Education that supports the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of every child. In partnership with families and our wider parish community, we nurture a faith-filled environment where pupils are encouraged to grow in love by putting Gospel values into action. Through prayer and daily living, children develop the virtues of care, consideration, generosity, love, mutual respect, patience, and tolerance, striving for achievement and using their gifts to serve others.
